How to choose the right size

Winter curtains, made from fabric by the yard
Heavy velvet holds its folds and blocks drafts, which suits it to the darker months. Our curtain fabrics are 54" wide and cut as one continuous length, so a tailor can make panels to your exact window.
Not sure about a colour? Order a 4" × 4" sample before you commit to full yardage.
How much fabric do I need?
Example: a 60" wide window, with curtains falling 84" from the rod.
- Fullness: 60" × 2 = 120" of fabric width
- Widths needed: 120" ÷ 54" = 2.2, rounded up to 3
- Cut length: 84" drop + 12" for hems and header = 96"
- Total: 3 × 96" = 288" ÷ 36 = 8 yards
Patterned fabric needs extra for pattern matching. Your tailor can confirm the final yardage.
Styling guide
How to choose Christmas decor that lasts
Good Christmas decor works with the room you already have. Instead of replacing everything each December, change the textiles: pillow covers, a table runner, a bed runner and, for a deeper change, curtains. They take minutes to swap, store flat in a drawer and change the mood of a whole room.
Start with colour. Choose one palette, such as gold and ivory, red and green check, or white and silver, and repeat it in every room. Repetition is what makes a home feel decorated, not cluttered. Then consider texture. Velvet catches lamplight and suits formal living rooms. Linen and cotton feel relaxed in farmhouse and modern homes. Silk with zari embroidery brings a quiet shimmer to the dining table.
Scale matters as much as pattern. On a sofa, two 20" covers with a lumbar cover in front look balanced. On the table, a runner that falls 6" to 9" over each end looks finished. On the bed, a runner sized to the mattress adds colour without changing your bedding.
Every piece from The HomeCentric is handmade to order, with hand embroidery, beadwork and appliqué. Because the covers are removable, you keep the same inserts all year and change only the look. Fold everything away in January, and it is ready again next December.

What Christmas décor does The HomeCentric sell?
We make handmade Christmas textiles: decorative throw and lumbar pillow covers, table runners, bed runners and curtain fabric by the yard. Designs include Christmas trees, snowflakes, ornaments, reindeer and festive lettering, in velvet, linen, silk, jacquard and cotton.
Are the Christmas pillow covers handmade?
Yes. Each cover is made to order by artisans, using techniques such as zardozi and zari embroidery, beading, foil work and appliqué. Because they are handmade, small variations between pieces are expected.
Do the pillow covers come with inserts?
No. You receive the cover only. For a full, plump look, choose an insert 2" larger than the cover, for example a 20" insert for an 18" cover.
What size Christmas pillow covers should I buy for my sofa?
18" or 20" square covers suit most sofas. Deep or oversized sofas look better with 22" or 24". Add a 12" × 24" lumbar cover in front to finish the arrangement.
How long should a Christmas table runner be?
Add 12" to 18" to the length of your table, so the runner falls 6" to 9" over each end. For example, a 72" table suits a 90" runner. For a coffee table, sideboard or mantel, a 36" to 60" runner works well.
What is a bed runner, and which size do I need?
A bed runner is a decorative band of fabric laid across the foot of the bed. It adds colour and texture for the season without changing your bedding. Choose the size that matches your mattress: Twin 53", Full 68", Queen 74", California King 86" or King 90", all 18" wide.
Do you sell ready-made Christmas curtains?
We sell curtain fabric by the yard rather than ready-made panels. Our fabrics are 54" wide, so you or a tailor can make curtains to the exact size of your window. Samples are available to check the colour first.

Can I return a Christmas order?
